# zicula-status-page-kit — free sample

Three real files from the full kit (12 files), each **trimmed to taste** — enough to
judge the quality, not enough to run a status page:

- `SETUP-sample.md` — the honest-scope intro and the first 2 of the 5 steps in the
  full kit's 15-minute path (see it run locally, make it yours in the editor).
  Steps 3–5 — deploy to Cloudflare Pages, first real check, scheduling with cron
  or GitHub Actions — plus the incident flow, CLI reference and troubleshooting
  table are summarized at the end so you know what the full guide adds.
- `config-sample.json` — the exact same file shape the page and the check script
  read, with the full set of inline `_note` fields — but 1 of the 3 demo systems.
  The full file ships three rows (including a deliberately dead demo system, so
  your very first look shows every status color), and CUSTOMIZE.md documents
  every field.
- `uptime-check-sample.mjs` — the CLI reference the check script prints: every
  option (`--fail-on-down`, `--demo-clear`, `--slow-ms`, `--max-days`…), what one
  run does, and the honest-scope notes. The ~150 lines of zero-dependency logic
  that implement it — fetch with redirects, latency, the daily tally folded into
  `uptime.json` — are in the full kit. Running this sample prints the help text.

What the full kit adds (the other 9 files + the rest of these three):

- The page: `status-page/index.html` — overall banner, one row per system with
  ~90-day uptime bars, incident cards with update timelines. One static file, no
  framework, no build step, white-label by design
- The checks: the real `uptime-check.mjs` (Node 18.17+, zero npm dependencies,
  `--fail-on-down` exits 1 so cron can email you) + copy-paste crontab lines and
  a ready GitHub Actions workflow that runs on the free tier and commits fresh
  history
- The editor: `editor/index.html` — a local, offline tool to brand the page,
  manage system rows and post incidents (`investigating → identified →
  monitoring → resolved`); nothing leaves your browser tab
- The data files: full `config.json` (3 demo systems), `incidents.json` (2 fake
  demo incidents to replace) and a generated demo `uptime.json`
- The docs: full SETUP.md (15-minute path, incident flow, CLI reference,
  troubleshooting), CUSTOMIZE.md (every config field + safe edits + translation),
  MANIFEST.md, and the single-company commercial LICENSE.txt

Try the sample locally in two commands (same as the kit's step 1):

```bash
unzip zicula-status-page-kit-sample.zip -d sample-look
cd sample-look && python3 -m http.server 8080   # then open the config in any editor
```
